Howes School Council 2010 - 11

The School Council performs an important role in the school, representing the children, and as their motto says ‘Working together to make our school better’.  Every two weeks each class from Year 1 upwards holds a class meeting and then their two School Councillors represent their views at a School Council meeting.  The Council has had a big impact on many aspects of school life; last year for example requesting more lunchtime play equipment and then spending £500 on equipment chosen by the children.  They also played a major part in designing our fantastic new outdoor spaces.  Elections for this year’s School Council were held and children wishing to stand were requested to give a short presentation to their class telling them why they would like to be their councillor.
